Issues related to activation and trial watermarks appear on all PDF files
Pdf Watermark Remover V1.0.2 Serial Number Serial Numbers. Convert Pdf Watermark Remover V1.0.2 Serial Number trail version to full software.
Problem:
When creating PDF files using PDF Create or PDF Converter Professional a trial watermark may be displayed on each page of the resulting PDF file.
Cause:
There are several reasons why trial watermarks appear on PDF files. However, each of these reasons are directly related to issues with product activation.
Solutions:
PDF Converter Professional, PDF Converter and PDF Create can be used 5 times before activation is required. However, we highly recommend activating the product with 'Activate Now!' following installation.
If PDF Converter Professional or PDF Create are not activated, the 'Trial Version www.Nuance.com' watermark (in PDF 4, 5, 6 and 7 products) or 'Trial Version www.scansoft.com' (in PDF 3 products) will appear in the resulting PDF file.
The most common activation issues are as follows:
No Internet connection.
An Internet connection is needed to activate, but it does not have to be on the machine that where the software is installed. For information on how to manually activate the product, please see the 'Activation Tour' at the following website:
Note: PDF Converter Professional is a combination of PDF Converter and PDF Create!. If the manual activation process is being followed, both products will need to be activated separately.
An application is blocking communication to the Internet.
This commonly occurs with firewall applications. Temporarily disable your firewall software to complete activation. For information on how to temporarily disable your firewall software, please consult the documentation that came with it. Otherwise, please refer to the manual activation instructions above to activate.
When activating a Nuance product, the following error message occurs after entering the serial number:
- 'The serial number is invalid.'
This indicates that the serial number was entered incorrectly. Verify that the serial number was entered correctly including entering 0's (zeros) not O's.

When launching PDF Converter Professional or PDF Create, the activation hook process must be running in the background. Without this component running, a trial watermark will appear on all PDF files.
Installation issues sometimes prevent this component from running automatically when the product is launched. The following steps detail how to enable this process manually and then add it to Microsoft Windows Startup as a workaround:
- Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the C:Program FilesScanSoft (PDF 2, 3 and 4) or C:Program FilesNuance (PDF 5, 6 and 7) program directory and select the folder of the installed product. For example, with PDF Converter Professional 5 installed, browse to the following location:
- C:Program FilesNuancePDF Professional 5.0
- Next, locate the appropriate activation hook for the installed product.
- 'PDFPro3Hook.exe' for PDF Converter Professional 3
- 'PDFPro4Hook.exe' for PDF Converter Professional 4
- 'PDFPro5Hook.exe' for PDF Converter Professional 5
- 'PDFPro6Hook.exe' for PDF Converter Professional 6
- 'PDFPro7Hook.exe' for PDF Converter Professional 7
- 'PDFCreateHook.exe' for PDF Create! 2
- 'PDFCreate3Hook.exe' for PDF Create! 3
- 'PDFCreate4Hook.exe' for PDF Create! 4
- 'PDFCreate5Hook.exe' for PDF Create! 5
- 'PDFCreate6Hook.exe' for PDF Create! 6
- 'PDFCreate7Hook.exe' for PDF Create! 7
- Double-click on the corresponding activation hook to launch the component.
- Test by opening a PDF file in PDF Converter Professional or creating a PDF file with PDF Create!. If the trial watermark no longer appears, follow through the remaining steps to add the activation hook to Windows Startup.
- Next, navigate back to the folder than contained the activation hook.
- Right-click on the activation hook and select 'Create Shortcut' from the context menu.
- Copy this shortcut to the Startup folder common to all users on the system.
- This Startup folder can be found by clicking 'Start > Run', and typing the following path:
- Windows 7 & Vista: C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup
- Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersStart MenuProgramsStartup

This will now start the Hook.exe each time a user logs into Microsoft Windows.
The 'PDF Create! Trial – www.nuance.com' watermark may also appear in instances where a previous version of PDF Converter Professional or PDF Create has been installed and not fully uninstalled. This can prevent the “PDFCreateHook.exe”, 'PDFPro4Hook.exe' or 'PDFPro5Hook.exe' from loading.
To resolve this issue please use the following steps:
Note: These steps include modifying the Windows Registry. Confirm that the user is logged on as the Administrator before attempting these steps. Please follow each step carefully and in the order listed:
- Close any running PDF Create!, PDF Converter or PDF Converter Professional processes.
- Click 'Start > Run' of type 'Run' in the Start Search field.
- Type regedit (Windows XP/Vista), or regedit32 (Windows 2000) and click 'OK'.
- In case any issues should result from editing the registry, please export a backup copy:
- Windows 2000: Registry menu > Export registry file.
- Windows XP/Vista: File > Export Registry File.
- Save this file to the Windows Desktop and name the file 'backup'. The 'backup' should be retained for a few days and if no issues exist the file can then be deleted.
- Navigate to the following registry location:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareZeonDocuComPDF Driver
- If a Hook2 or Hook3 appears following Hook1, then delete Hook1.
- If a Hook2 and a Hook3 still remain, then delete Hook2. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
- Rename Hook2 (or Hook3) to Hook1.
- Close the Registry Editor.
The Nuance product appears to be activated but a 'DocuCom PDF Trial' trial watermark appears on PDF files.

Trial Watermarks after upgrading to Windows XP SP3 :
A trial watermark may be added to PDF files after upgrading to Windows XP SP3. On the first reboot/login of the system, file changes are taking place that disrupt the application from communicating with the licensing hook process. Rebooting the system will resolve this problem.
Unique to PDF Professional 5:
A-pdf Watermark 4.7.6 Serial Key
There are some situations when PDF Professional 5 is operating properly and then all of a sudden the 'Trial Version www.Nuance.com' watermark is inserted into the PDF file. This may occur when the 'PDFPro5Hook.exe' is unable to communicate properly with PDF Professional 5. If this happens, do the following to ensure that PDF Converter Professional 5 is operating properly:
- Close out of PDF Converter Professional 5 and select 'No' if prompted to save.
- Press 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' and launch the Task Manager.
- If the following processes are listed, select the process name and then click the 'End Task' button on each of them:
- PDFProFiltSrv.exe
- PDFDirect.exe
- PDFPlus.exe
- PDFPro5Hook.exe
- Launch PDF Converter Professional 5 and the trial watermark should not appear.
Note: In some situations, following the steps in Technote 5975 to prevent the Nuance PDF Create Assistant from launching may help avoid this issue.
